QBS Modern: Evaluating NFL Quarterbacks From 1970-present

Scoring System Details:


  • Points are predicated upon a quarterback's ranking within the NFL's 'top-ten' in all five categories of measure.
  • Ranking outside of the 'top-ten' in both positive or negative categories is too negligible to be incorporated into the score.

League ranking in passing yards, touchdown passes, completion percentage and ANY/A is valued between 1-10 points.


  • 1st place = 10 points
  • 2nd place = 9 points
  • 3rd place = 8 points
  • 4th place = 7 points
  • 5th place = 6 points
  • 6th place = 5 points
  • 7th place = 4 points
  • 8th place = 3 points
  • 9th place = 2 points
  • 10th place = 1 point

 

League ranking in interceptions yields negative scoring, valued between 0.5-5 points.


  • 1st place = -5 points
  • 2nd place = -4.5 points
  • 3rd place = -4 points
  • 4th place = -3.5 points
  • 5th place = -3 points
  • 6th place = -2.5 points
  • 7th place = -2 points
  • 8th place = -1.5 points
  • 9th place = -1 point
  • 10th place =-0.5 points
